Bike Ride for Burma Flood Victims
I would like to let you know that I have signed up to do bike ride for people who are victims of severe flood disaster. There is
more than 200,000 people who are displaced and around 50 people were rest in peace.
This flooding has badly hit to most remote areas and many are children, women, elderly people and some animals, cows, dogs.
They all need our help and moral support especially financial support.
It will be really nice if you may donate any little contributions to support them.
We, all fundraisers will be riding the bike from St James's Park to the Peace pagoda in Battersea Park on 16th August from 12pm and
will be doing the praying at the Peace pagoda.
Please feel free and donate any little and it will make huge different for the victims of severe flood in Myanmar/Burma.

8888 uprising was a historic and remarkable event for Burma pro-democracy movement. It was a day that hundreds of thousands of
students, monks, civilian and many more were scarified their lives for freedom and democracy in Burma.
It was a day that we successfully brought down the Ne Win’s Military Regime. We all salute to our heroes who were brutally killed by
the world worst military junta in 1988 in Burma. But the spirits of 8888 will never die.
We continue to campaign for the release of all students detainees, farmers activists, worker activists and to free all political
prisoners.

We will be calling for the release of arrested students and activists on 7th July at the Burma/Myanmar Embassy. The authorities have
recently stopped parents visiting the students and started extending the prison sentences of other activists for old past offences.
The recent vote in parliament over amendments to the constitution, only resulted in a pathetic word change from "military" to
"defence" in the background required to be President - all the important proposed amendments were blocked by the reserved military
seats in parliament.

We will collect both paper based signatures for NLD and host the online petition globally and deliver it to FCO.
On 19th of June 2014, we will hold the signature campaign in front of Burmese Embassy and introduce the signature campaign and collect the signatures from citizens of Burma who attend the event between 12:00PM - 14:00PM.

Silent protest in front of the Burmese Embassy to call for the release of remaining political prisoners in Burma
Dear friends,
The earlier 2012 has seen the release of more than 650 political prisoners by the Thein Sein government. Although we welcome the Thein Sein government’s initial reform as a positive step forward freedom and democracy in our country, we still believe that hundreds of political prisoners are imprisoned while serving long term imprisonments. As we all know , these political prisoners have been suffering from serious medical conditions due to lack of proper medial care, coupled with brutal torture and adverse prison conditions.
As a result, the
past 6 months witnessed the death of political prisoners, Zaw Lin Htun
and Thet New. Currently, the health conditions of 3 political prisoners ( Phyo
Wai Aung, San Shar and Mira Mauth) in Burma have declined so badly and they have been denied urgent medical attention. We
do not know how many more of these political prisoners have been suffering silently
and unnoticed in exchange for their own freedom.
Since we believe
that the cause of these political prisoners’ sacrifice is huge to bring the freedom to our motherland, we are going to work harder and continue our struggle for their release in great unity.
So we are going
to stage a silent protest to call on the Thein Sein government for;
- The release all remaining political prisoners in Burma
- The declare nationawide ceasefire and work hard to bring internal peace in the country.

The "Burma Human Rights Day" conference was held at the Castle Theater, London Building, South Bank University on 18. 03.2012.
The conference was held to honor and pay tribute the 24th anniversary of the death of Ko Phone Maw and many other unsung martyrs and their huge sacrifices in the struggle of democracy and human rights in Burma. It also aimed to draw attentions of Human Rights violation on people in Burma by the military regime throughout the long decades struggle of Burma’s democracy and human rights.
The conference was held to honor and pay tribute the 24th anniversary of the death of Ko Phone Maw and many other unsung martyrs and their huge sacrifices in the struggle of democracy and human rights in Burma. It also aimed to draw attentions of Human Rights violation on people in Burma by the military regime throughout the long decades struggle of Burma’s democracy and human rights.
88 Generation Students Leaders (exile) gave us the remarkable speeches on the importance of pursuing the fundamental rights of people in Burma .There were also presentations of current political situations and Human
Rights issues in Burma and discussions on working together for the improvement of Human
Rights conditions in Burma. At this time, we would like to convey our gratitude to Ko Zargana for the remarkable message for the youth in UK and to Mr. Andy Unger, Head of the Law Department of LSBU and thank him for his interesting lectures on Human Rights.
